HipHopSound software projects

Who's got the power over the sound of Hip Hop music; Producer or Emcee? We analyzed music by the producers Dr. Dre, Rick Rubin and Timbaland and the rappers Eminem, Jay-Z, LL Cool J and Nas using a Self-Organizing Map SOM, i.e., a neural network.

• Hip Hop Analysis based on the Goniometer the feature from the recording studio and
• Hip Hop Analysis based on the MFCC feature from the field of speech processing confirm that

producers have their unique sound profile irrespective of the rapper. Producers have the power over the sound.
